UPDATE: As expected, John Wall was the number 1 draft in the 2010 NBA draft, going to the Washington Wizards.  We look forwards to an exciting professional career from this player.

John Wall is the most entertaining, most athletic, most skilled player in all of college basketball.  He can humiliate defenders, score in waves, dish out incredible assists, and pick someone's pocket in a Flash.  He can also light up a crowd with explosive high flying dunks.  Wall has shined in every game he's played in so far and has proven to be the most clutch player in college basketball as well.   He's already had several game winning shots, clutch free throws, and a nasty three point play to put away Uconn.   This site will be a gallery of John Wall pictures, ranging from ordinary, to funny, to downright awesome and worthy of printing and hanging on your WALL.

Wall broke a number of records while he was with the Kentucky Wildcats, and instantly became a hero for the fans of the school.  He also led the team to the Elite Eight of the March Madness NCAA Tournament.

• He tied for seventh in terms of number of steals in a single game for a UK player.
• He also had the most assists in a season at UK.
• He had the most points in a season by a UK Freshman. 



John Wall, the freshman point guard for Kentucky, is only 7 games into his freshman year, but is already getting buzz for being the National Player of the Year Frontrunner.  In his first game, he scored a 5-second-left buzzer beater to keep UK from having to go into overtime against the Miami RedHawks, and since then, he's stayed on a roll, averaging 19 points a game and generally just being an awesome basketball player.

Wall has already earned the nickname, "The Great Wall," and has led the Wildcats to what has so far been a perfect season.  He's earned buzz that has built him up as the next LeBron James, if James had gone to college.  Wall had originally said he was going to skip the 2010 draft, but he has since changed his mind, and entered his name into the 2010 draft.  He was naturally expected to be the first player to be picked, and since the Washington Wizards had the first pick, naturally, they got Wall.  Wall has yet to start his rookie season, and his start at the Wizards may have been overshadowed by the hubbub around the LeBron, D-Wade, and Bosh dream team, but that is expected to change when Wall, probably the most promising new member of the NBA, gets his start this winter. 

Wall hails from Raleigh, North Carolina, where he played high school basketball for the Word of God Christian Academy.  While at Word of God, he led the school team to the State Championship, where they were beaten in the finals thanks to a last-second buzzer beater shot from 40 feet. 

Once out of high school, Wall was the considered by many sources to be the number 1 recruit for college basketball.  He was recruited heavily by Baylor, Duke, Kansas, and Miami before deciding on Kentucky.  Now that he's at Kentucky, he's expected to be a one and done player.  With Evan Turner hurting his back, Wall is now the frontrunner for National Player of the Year.

Wall is perhaps best known for his incredible speed, his ability to change direction on a dime, and his freakishly long arms that make him a demon to contend with in transition situations.  When he's on the move, he can find open teammates adeptly, and he can control the ball incredibly well while moving.

Despite his incredible skill and his excellent start to his freshman year, Wall is expected to greatly improve as he transitions into college and professional settings.  He isn't quite as good in stand-still situations, and he can't really hit the threes.  He also has a tendency to take certain plays off, but as he moves into more serious settings, this will no longer slide, and there's no doubt that Wall has the athleticism to improve quickly and effectively.

Of all the players getting hype, Wall is living up to it.  He shows up game after game and gets it done, and if he and his team keep up the pace, they'll be one of the favorites to win the National Championship this year. 

What's most surprising about Wall's UK team is how young the entire team is.  Of all of the guys getting serious amounts of time in the games, only one of them is an upperclassman (Patrick Patterson, a Junior).  It's mostly a team of Freshmen and Sophomores, but despite their inexperience, this team has been getting by on raw talent.  Once that talent becomes more refined, watch out.  The team was able to make it fairly far into the tournament for such a young team as well, and you can expect good things out of them next season, despite the fact that Wall will be off in the NBA building a name beside such legends as Jordan, LeBron, and Actor/Player (not the other way around) Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

• ESPN National Player of the Week for the First Week of his Career
• SEC Freshman of the Week for the First Four Weeks of his College Career.
